Zambia – Angola set to sign Oil Pipeline deal

Angolan Energy Minister is tomorrow expected in Zambia to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Zambian Government to construct a fuel pipeline from Angola into Zambia.

Energy Minister Matthews Nkhuwa has told Money FM News via telephone that government is set to sign MoU with the Angolan Government on October 12th, 2018.

The Energy Minister has emphasized that the oil pipeline will bring many economics benefits to Zambia.

He says among the benefits is that oil will be cheaper as the importation cost will be reduced.

In September, Mr. Nkhuwa disclosed that all legal procedures to establish an oil pipe line from Angola into Zambia were concluded.

Mr. Nkhuwa said the Memorandum of Understanding between Zambia and Angola will be signed on October 12, 2018.

The Minister said Government is ready for the project and that feasibility studies will start before the end of the year.
