The Bank of Zambia (BOZ) has noted the Need to look at ways in which the country can improve its local economic activities to reduce the impact of the Global economic slowdown.
BOZ Governor Dr. Denny Kalyalya says Even though the global ecpnomy is slowing down, there are certain economic goods that are increasing in price which the country can export.
The Bank Governor says Non-traditional exports are not growing according to expectations as the country has continued to depend highly on a limited number of export commodities.
Meanwhile, The Central Bank has encouraged Mpundu Mutembo the man on the bank notes breaking chains, to approach them if he needs help.
There have been concerns from stakeholders that Mr. Mpundu a freedom fighter who is on the bank notes symbolizing breaking a chain has been neglected.
But BoZ Governor Dr. Denny Kalyalya says Mr. Mpundu can approach the Central Bank to discuss on his wellbeing if he needs any help.
