Zambia to take part in revolution for electric car vehicles

President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia is well positioned to be part of the revolution for electric car vehicles.
Gracing the Zambian National Day at the ongoing Expo 2020 Dubai, President Hichilema says the country is fortunate to be richly endowed with resources that are contributing to the development of electric vehicles.
The Head of State explained that Zambia is on the verge of renewable energy revolution which will be powered by the country’s natural resources.
“Our natural endowments not only make Zambia pleasing to the eye but relevant for the new generation of green energy as we face climate challenges in our world. We are on the verge of renewable energy revolution that will be powered by our vast available land, sun, wind, rivers, and water falls.”
“Our country is well positioned, well-resourced to be part and will be part of this revolution for electric vehicles, President Hichilema said.
He however stated that the country cannot do this alone as it needs partners, technology and resources to actualize the revolution.
And President Hichilema said government’s drive is to develop technology, innovation, investment and foster a green economy.
He expressed confidence that the Expo will unlock the potential that will be able to shape Zambia’s future and deliver tangible solutions for a better world.
“The theme, connecting minds and creating the future captures our desire as Zambia to connect with the global community and boldly pursue our aspirations that not only bring prosperity to our country but brings values to Dubai and the world at large.”
“I am confident that the Expo will unlock the potential that is inept in all our people, in all our nations, that will be able to shape our future and deliver tangible solutions for a better world,” he added.
Zambia is among over 192 countries that are at the 2020 Dubai Expo which commenced on October 1st, 2020, and is running up to March 31st, 2022.
The Expo is being held under the theme “connecting minds, creating the future”, and Zambia is exhibiting under the opportunity sub-theme with a country theme “Come to Zambia a land of peace and opportunities”.
Over 40 Zambian companies are expected to participate in the high level global event that will bring together over 25 million people from various parts of the world.
