Zesco donates K520, 000 towards Northern Investment Expo

Power utility company, Zesco Limited has donated a total of K520, 000 towards the successful holding of the Northern Province Investment Expo slated for November, 2018.

And Olam Coffee Limited has also donated K450, 000 to the event while Microfinance Africa Zambia Limited has donated K250, 000.

Northern Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga, in an interview with Money FM News via telephone, says the organizers have so far raised about K4.5 million.

Organizers of the event, which will be held alongside the centenary celebrations to mark the end of the first world war in Northern Province, requires a total of K18 million to successfully hold the two events.

Mr. Kamanga says the organizers are confident that the event will be will be a success and result in massive investment opportunities in the province.

“Preparations are going on very well and we have stakeholders preparing potential investment sites that the investors can take advantage of and invest in the province that has vast potential for economic growth,” he said.

Mr. Kamanga has disclosed that the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Power China Company Limited to undertake feasibility study for the establishment of a Tourism Resort between Mporokoso and Kaputa.
