ZRA donates solar power back-up to Chelstone maternity ward.

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has donated a solar power back up worth K41, 000 to Chelstone Health Center maternity wing in a bid to reduce the impact of load shedding at the ward.

Speaking during the handover of the solar power back up, ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda said, “The donation is part of the women’s leadership program within the Authority aimed at encouraging women to take up leadership roles.”

“The donation is approved under our Corporate Social Responsibility and backed by section 204 of the customs and excise Act chapter 322 of the laws of Zambia,” Chanda.

He said this in a speech read on his behalf by ZRA Commission of Finance Ms Bridget Muyenga.

And receiving the donation, Chelstone Health Center Acting Medical Superintendent Jacklyn Manda said, “The donation will go a long way in helping medical staff to attend to mothers during load shedding hours and help facility staff to work effectively.”
