The Northern Provincial Administration says it has so far signs 15 investment deals with investors after last week’s investment forum and expo.
Northern Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga tells Money FM News via telephone that other deals are in the pipeline to be signed with various investors wishing to invest in the province.
Mr. Kamanga says the expo has opened the potential of the province in areas such as tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, harbour services, transport and logistics, mining and other key sectors.
The Northern Province Permanent Secretary has also described the just ended investment forum and expo that it was a success.
He says the organizers were expecting about 1, 500 delegates but that it was oversubscribed as over 2, 500 delegates attended the event.
“It was a success this I can tell you. And for your own information, we are in talks with a number of investors who are more than willing to invest in the province. Fifteen investment deals have so far being signed,” he said.
Mr. Kamanga is confident that the forum will result in the booming of economic activities in all sectors of the economy.
“The expo has given us hope that two to three years from now, Northern Province will also contribute to the country’s GDP which in turn will help us reduce poverty levels as well as job creation,” said Mr. Kamanga.
