The Ministry of Finance has disclosed that a five-man delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has commenced its staff Visit in Zambia.
Ministry Spokesperson Chileshe Kandeta says the delegation, arrived in the country on Monday and is headed by IMF Mission Chief Dan Gura and includes 4 other senior IMF officials.
Mr. Kandeta says the IMF team is in the country to exchange information on the policies that the Government is undertaking in dealing with fiscal challenges, the public debt, and other macroeconomic policy issues for stabilisation and growth of the economy.
During the staff visit, the IMF team will have data and information exchange sessions with Central Government, Bank of Zambia, Zambia Revenue Authority and other players in the economy.
The team will finalise its tour of duty on 19th November 2019.
