97% funding by MCC disbursed

The Millennium Challenge account says ninety seven percent of the nearly 36 million US dollars funding from the Millennium Challenge Corporation under a compact with the Zambian Government has been disbursed so far.
MCA Corporate Communications Manager John Kunda says the Compact with the MCC is coming to a close on November 15th 2018.
The Goal of the compact is to reduce poverty through economic growth in Zambia by strengthening good governance, economic freedom and investments in the people of Zambia.
Mr. Kunda says the MCC has so far expressed satisfaction in the manner the investment is being handled.
He spoke to Money FM News in a phone interview.
Mr. Kunda has also disclosed that the over four thousand jobs that have been created under the project will be reduced.
He says Government will fund the part of the project that will not be completed and will go up to August 2019.
He says not all contractors will be accommodated under the continuing phases of the project.
Mr. Kunda says He hopes that those whose contracts will be terminated will find work soon after.
