The Ministry of Agriculture says the Agricultural Diversification Agenda is Progressing well.
Ministry Permanent Secretary Julius Shawa says production of diverse crops in the country is on the rise.
He says Farmers have started to realise the need a diversity of cropping patterns and that they know the method of diversification.
Mr. Shawa says the production figures will be announced towards the end of March.
He however says that government and farmers are facing various challenges as the agenda is being implemented.
The Permanent secretary has identified some of them as insufficient quality crops, fluctuations in yield prices and financing are among others.
Mr. Shawa says quality crops are imported and often times farmers complain that their yields are bought at low prices and that there is not enough financing to increase production other crops.
Mr. Shawa was speaking in a telephone interview with Money FM News in Lusaka.
