The Public Private Drivers Association says there was no sensitization done on bus drivers over the improved Bank Notes by the Bank of Zambia.
Association President Josiah Majuru says most of the Drivers and Conductors rejected the new notes because they thought it was fake money.
Some Bus operators had been refusing to accept the enhanced notes when they were first offloaded on the market because they were uninformed about the changes on the notes and feared the consequences of being found with fake notes.
Mr. Majuru says in an interview with Money FM News that the Central Bank should have engaged all stakeholders as they did when rebasing the Kwacha.
Meanwhile the Association says it will put in place a plan to ensure that bus operators rejecting the 5 and 10 ngwee coins stop doing so.
Mr. Majuru says in an interview with Money FM news that it is wrong for anyone to reject the coins as they are legal tender.
