Agriculture Minister donates diesel for Road Rehabilitation Projects

Minister of Agriculture Michael Katambo has donated 2000 litres of diesel to support the Peri-Urban Roads Rehabilitation Project in Luanshya district on the copperbelt province.

Mr. Katambo says the project will also help the Small-Scale farmers’ have access to markets for their produce, in line with the country’s diversification Agenda adding that new areas for farming activities will open up.

He says any gestures to change the face of the road network in the district are welcome as most of the roads in the district are in deplorable state.

Mr Katambo says one of the Roads under this project includes Chisokone-Miputu Road which connects Masaiti and Luanshya through Kawama and Roan Section 10.

And Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda notes that Lanshya and Masaiti districts are farming areas that need proper and Sustainable road networks.

Mr Chanda said this when officially launched the 2018 Luanshya Peri-Urban Roads Rehabilitation Project in Kawama Township.

“It is gratifying to note that the launch of upgrade of Peri-Urban roads in Luanshya district has received positive feedback” Luanshya Mayor has said.

He has also thanked the people of Luanshya for their continuous support to develop and change the face of our district.
