The BuyZed Campaign is optimistic that Zambia will rise above the current economic storm being experienced.
In a statement to Money FM News, Organization Founder Evans Ngoma said this can only be possible if government implements a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track the performance of the economy.
Mr. Ngoma stressed the need for government to identify areas that may require more attention in order to further promote inclusive economic growth.
He added that promoting industrialization that is anchored on production and consumption of locally produced goods and services can also be another way of reviving the economy.
“We need to actively promote industrialization that is anchored on production and consumption of locally produced goods and services and also emphasize that such should be produced by Zambians,” Mr. Ngoma said.
He said Zambia’s economy is currently experiencing a severe cold and awful wind characterized of economic pollution because of lack of effective planning and management by those charged with the public duty of prudent national economic management and specialized economic advisory services.
“As a country it is undeniably so that we are endowed with abundant natural resources but the disadvantage has always been our slow pace in transforming such into secondary products and significant utilization of our capable human capital and this has been compounded by us concentrating more on political adventurous at the expense of economics,” he stated.
Mr. Ngoma further advised government to embark on a new platform in terms of economic planning and management so that the economy can back on track.
