The Disability Rights Watch says the increasing cost of doing business, competition for business space and Education are among the many Challenges that Persons with disabilities in Business face.
Organisation Programs Coordinator Bruce Chooma says they do not have proper formalization of their businesses and also lack proper documentation of their financial Statements as they depend on others.
He says this makes it even more difficult for them to obtain loans from financing institutions.
Mr. Chooma says there are industrious Persons with disabilities in various sectors the country, including arts, agriculture and carpentry among others, who need support from the Private sector and the state to access markets.
He has therefore noted that there should be policies in place that ensure that innovations by such people immediately trigger the required support.
Speaking on Money FM Radio’s Entrepreneur at Money Radio Radio Program that airs every Monday and Friday at 11:00 hours, Mr. Chooma says the Ministries of Labor and Commerce trade and industry need to collaborate to ensure that people living with Disabilities get the incentives they require.
He says The Ministry of Local government should also ensure that those operating in the markets waivers in some fees.
