Chamber of Mines calls for investment in mining sector.

Zambia Chamber of Mines has called on Civil Society organizations to suggest what kind of green energy government should invest in for the mining sector to  mitigate effects of climate change.

Chamber Chief Executive Officer Sokwani Chilembo told Money FM News that the current suggestion from key players to use solar energy is not working for the benefit of the sector.
Mr. Chilembo added that “the Chamber recognizes the need for change to green renewable energy in the sector.”

Mr. Chilembo’s comments comes in following the pronouncement by  Centre for Trade Policy and Development on the need for government  to encourage green mining as a measure to mitigate effects of climate change.
