China has refuted assertions that China is putting the Zambian government under political pressure to pay back the debt it owes.
Chinese Head of Mission to the African Union Lui Yuxi has described the reports being made about China and Africa as malicious.
Mr. Yuxi charges that such reports are designed to divide the two nations adding that allegations that China is demanding a stake in running Zambian mines and other national assets are false.
He says China is cooperating with Africa to ensure that countries in the continent succeed in their developmental agendas.
Mr. Liu further notes that Zambia is an important country on the African continent due to the role it plays in SADC and the African Union Committee called the C10.
He said this following reports that china is demanding for the Zambian government to pay the debt it owes the Asian country and a stake in the country’s mines and other institutions.
