Zambia Tourism sector, a world leader

The Ministry of Tourism and Arts has noted that it is time for Zambia to take the lead in defining tourism in the world.
Minister in Charge Ronald Chitotela says the chance given to the country to Chair for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNTWTO) Commission for Africa – CAF at the General Assembly in Russia should be seen as an opportunity to set the agenda.
Mr. Chitotela says the opportunity shows reflects the levels of confidence that other African Nations have in Zambia.
The Tourism and Arts Minister has expressed confidence that the country’s Tourism Sector is poised to be shining example in Africa and the world at large.
He says he wants the promotion of culture to seriously complement natural heritage as a means of driving the growth of the sector.
The Minister said in line with cultural tourism, he wants Zambian artists to begin to excel and contribute to national development.
Mr. Chitotela further plans on hosting the Africa Music and Arts Festival in Livingstone, an event that will bring artists from across the continent to Zambia.
