Conducive policy for private sector growth needed.

The Zambia Federation of Employers has reiterated a call to government to create a conducive policy that will assist the growth of the private sector in both urban and rural districts.
Federation Chief Executive Director Harrington Chibanda observes that persistence delays by the Ministry of Finance to dismantle arrears owed to local contractors and suppliers has consistently affected growth the private sector.
Mr. Chibanda tells Money FM in an interview that the proposal in the 2020 national budget to allocate spend K2.3 billion on dismantling domestic arrears is not enough.
In the 2019 national budget the government has allocated K437 million to settle domestic arrears and according, to the Bankers Association of Zambia, the government owes local contractors over K15 billion.
