Continental free trade area will greatly benefit Zambia -COMESA, IATF.

The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa COMESA has advised that Zambia should sign both the Tripartite and the continental Free trade agreements.
COMESA director for trade and Monetary Affairs Francis Mangeni says once the country ratified these instruments, it will have access to larger markets.
He has noted that other countries have already signed and Zambia should not remain behind by not signing the agreements.
Government says it is still holding consultations before it makes a decision whether to sign the agreements or not.
Mr. Mangeni spoke to money F.M in a phone interview.
In a related development the Intra African Trade Fair Ambassador says Africa Continental Free Trade area agreement will greatly benefit the country if signed.
Dr Caleb Fundanga says the agreement is good for Zambia because it will reduce bureaucracy in trade between African Countries.
Dr Fundanga says the agreement aims at eliminating tariffs on trade between members of the Agreement, a move that will see a reduction in the cost of exporting to other African countries.
