Contractors sector performs favorably-Small Scale Contractors Association of Zambia.

The Small-Scale Contractors Association of Zambia says the sector has this year performed favorably.
Association President Mutale Mpepo has told Money FM News in an interview that the good performance recorded in the sector is as a result of the massive infrastructure development that the government has embarked on this year.
Mr. Mpepo says the country has seen massive infrastructure development in almost all the government ministries as well as in the private sector.
He says the associations expects to construct more infrastructure next year especially in the rural parts of the country.
Mr Mpepo says the association will focus on the improvement of feeder roads in most parts of the country.
“The current state of most feeder roads in the country makes it very difficult for the farmers to transport their goods to the market” He said.
Mr Mpepo has since urged government to ensure that it pays the local contractors every month in a bid to support the effort of the contractors.
He says late payment of local contractors by the government is the greatest challenge the association is facing.
