Cross border traders urged to take precautions in view of Corona Virus outbreak in China.

The Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association has advised traders ordering goods from China to take precautionary measures in view of the Corona Virus which has broken out in that country.

Association Secretary General Jacob Makambwe told Money FM News in an interview that cross border traders must adhere to the prescribed laws that guide how they are supposed to conduct themselves when traveling to a country battling with any virus.
Mr. Makambwe said traders must comply with preventive measures that China has put in place at its airports and all entry points in order to prevent the disease from spreading to Zambia.

“There are laws that are guiding how you should conduct yourself when there is an outbreak in a country where you are conducting business, many of the traders ordering goods from China must comply with the measures China has put in place,” Mr. Makambwe said.
He added that traders intending to travel to China for business must in the meantime postpone their trips until the disease is contained.
“Cross border trade is a business that has so many risks, there is just need for cross border traders to be cautious all the time,” he said.
A coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China has killed 17 people,  infected more than 570 and the virus has spread to at least six other countries

The unknown virus strain is believed to have emerged late last year from illegally traded wildlife at an animal market in China’s central city of Wuhan.
