Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association (ZANAMACA) says it is confident that Marketeers will easily catch up with the new Zanamaca Spenn informal sector digital platform once it is introduced to them.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Zanamaca President Mupila Kameya noted this digital platform will help both marketeers and Councils pay and collect revenue in a clean and transparent manner.
“Very soon the association will begin to sensitize marketeers in the country on the Zanamaca Spenn informal sector digital platform so that they have full knowledge about it before it is introduced on the market,” he said.
Mr Kameya observes in the past, over 6 million people were not paying their taxes because cadres were illegally collecting revenue from them which was a huge setback for the country.
“This will be a thing of the past with the introduction of the digital platform and revenue will be channeled to the right offices,” he added
On Monday, Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association and Spenn signed a memorandum of Understanding to introduce a Zanamaca Spenn informal sector digital platform that will enable councils collect revenue from the informal sector through the electronic platform.
Meanwhile Mr. Kameya has also urged its members to oblige and pay tax contributions aimed at increasing revenue for the country.
Recently, Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) announced plans to implement taxes among the informal sector, including marketeers, as a way of diversifying the revenue base in the country and appointed ZANAMACA as a base-tax collecting agent.
