EAZ emphasizes the need for businesses to avoid speculative pricing of necessities required to fight COVID 19.

The Economic Association of Zambia (EAZ) has emphasized the need for business owners and suppliers of goods and services especially pharmaceuticals to avoid speculative pricing of necessities required to fight and prevent the spread of COVID 19.
Association President Lubinda Habazoka said speculative pricing of necessities required to fight and prevent the spread of COVID 19 will greatly compromise the fight against the epidemic.
“We would like to ask business owners and suppliers of goods and services especially pharmaceuticals to avoid speculative pricing as this will greatly compromise the fight against the Coronavirus,” Dr Haabazoka said.
Dr Habazoka said to this effect the African Diaspora Development Institute has embarked on diaspora mobilization for the purchase of masks, gloves, ventilators and other necessities required preventing the spread of COVID 19 in Africa.
He said the organization in collaboration with the Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ), has since chosen Zambia as a receiver and distributor point for Southern Africa.
“The African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI) under the leadership of Ambassador Arikana Chihombori-Quao has embarked on diaspora mobilization for the purchase of masks, gloves, ventilators and other necessities required to fight and prevent the spread of COVID 19 in Africa,” He explained.
“Through an ongoing collaboration with the Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ), Zambia has been chosen as a receiving and distribution point for Southern Africa. The EAZ will coordinate this effort with the Diaspora through its New York-based Diaspora Chairperson Mr Savior Mwambwa”
Dr Habazoka further says due to the prevailing COVID-19 global pandemic, the planned summits that include the Diaspora Wakanda1 Homecoming Summit and the National Economic Summit for the year 2020 will still be held but at later dates to be communicated to.
He has since appealed to the general public to adhere to all guidelines prescribed by government to ensure victory over the pandemic.
