Financial expert cautions Gamblers

•       betting must not be perceived as an easy way of making money

Financial Expert says sports betting must not be perceived as an easy way of making money by people as it is a win and lose game.

 Speaking to Money FM News in an interview, Mambo Hamaundu said seeing people waking up early in the morning going to bet as a way of sustaining their livelihood is a clear indication that the country’s levels of employment are very low and must be looked into.

“It is disheartening to see people wake up early in the morning to go and bet instead of going for work,” he said 

Mr Hamaundu notes despite the betting business having its negatives, it has also some positives as owners are employing people to cut down on the high levels of unemployment in the country. 

 He said betting is a business in which the owners who have invested in and are contributing to the tax revenue of the country.

He has urged the general public especially men to keep in mind that betting is a gamble of which they can either lose their money or win and must not be perceived as an easy way of making money. “Members of the public must find ways of empowering themselves with business to boost their livelihood and not just to depend on betting,” Mr Hamaundu noted
