First Lady encourages participation of women in economic activities

First Lady Esther Lungu has pledged to continue Championing for the rights of women and girls in their participation in Economic Activities.

Mrs. Lungu has identified challenges including access and the cost of finances, lack of markets and unfair policies among others as Global challenges that women face.

The first Lady has therefore requested the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry and the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) to assist Local business reach National, International and eventually Regional Markets.

She has also advised that women need to change their mindset and overcome their fears in carrying out entrepreneurial activities.

She adds that women need to realize that they have a bigger role to play further advising established business women to help those at lower levels grow in their businesses as well.

Mrs. Lungu was speaking at the launch of She Trades in Zambia Chapter Lusaka.

She has advised the International Trade Center Executive Director Arancha Gonzalez not to relent in Championing for the success of women entrepreneurs.
