FNB Encourages Cashless Transactions

The First National Bank FNB Zambia says using digital platforms for financial transactions is safe, convenient and cost effective.
FNB Head of strategic Marketing and Communications Clotilda Mulenga says the bank’s Cash back rewards Program is an initiative that aims to drive customers towards using digital channels.
She was speaking in an interview with Money FM News at the FNB meet and greet event in Lusaka Last evening.
Ms. Mulenga adds Zambia is a cash bases economy as a lot of locals prefer to use cash even in circumstances where they can use online payment platforms.
She however says that digital Is the future in terms of the way that customers should transact and has cited the Bank of Zambia encouraging a cash lite economy.
A 2013 paper by the Guardian indicated that “access to electronic payments can be a driver for business innovation.
Bundling electronic payments information and software creates opportunities for businesses to streamline and automate processes relating to procurement, dispatch, inventory management, and payment collections.”
