Zambia Chamber of Mines projects low copper prices in 2019.

The Zambia Chamber of Mines projects that the copper prices are expected to drop next year as a result of the trade war between China and the United States of America.
Zambia Chamber of Mines Chief Executive Officer Sokwani Chilembo has told Money FM News in an interview that copper prices on the short-term guidance have dropped to US$ 6,100 per metric tonne.
Mr. Chilembo emphasizes that long term copper prices still stand at about US$ 7, 100 adding that the chamber is expecting the prices to slightly reduce by next year.
He adds that it will be difficult for the mining industry to record growth charges next year.
He adds that the industry will face hard times in rising capital to conduct expansion works.
He adds that the availability and affordability of finance in the mining sector has charged dramatically in the last quarter of the year.
