Government urged to hold Triple V contractor accountable.

Bwana Mukubwa Member of Parliament has called on the Ministry of Local Government to ensure that Directors of a Lusaka based contractor Triple V Company are made to account for the money they got without finishing the Construction of Ndola’s Mushili market.

Mr. Chanda told Money FM News that this will serve as deterrence to local contractors who get money from government, abandon works and vanish without any word.

And Mr. Chanda supported government’s decision to grant the Zambia Army Civil authority to construct Market shelters in Ndola.
He said it was gratifying that Mushili market which has stalled for six years under Triple V Company had been given to the Army.

“For over three years I have been calling on the Ministry of Local Government to terminate Triple V contract for Mushili market because it is a failed project and the quality of work done on the project is poor and too costly,” Mr. Chanda said.

He expressed gratitude to the Ministry for understanding the suffering of marketeers and the need to terminate the Triple V contract so that Zambia Army can finish the construction of the market in a qualitative manner and at a much lower cost.
“I am very happy that government through the Ministry of Local government has taken this decision that Zambia Army can complete the market so that marketeers in Mushili are well served,” he said.
