The Zambia Youths in the Fight Against Corruption has hailed the decision by the Ministry of Finance to take to parliament the Sales Tax Bill, 2019.
ZYAFAC Executive Director Maurice Malambo tells Money FM News that the government is also doing well in terms of engaging the concerned tax payers over the changes from VAT to Sales Tax.
Mr. Malambo is confident that when the Sales Tax is in full implementation, the government will be able to collect the much needed taxes.
He said this is a progressive thing that the government has done and needs the full support of all stakeholders.
“”For the government to fund the various projects, there is indeed need to be strategic in collecting the taxes. We appeal to the business community and all tax payers to be compliant and pay the required taxes,” he said.
Mr. Malambo also said it is pleasing that the government introduced various bills in parliament aimed at improving good governance in the country.
He said for businesses to flourish, there is need to have a conducive environment in the country.
