Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia President Suzyo Zimba has told Money FM News in an interview that the government should emulate Tanzania that wants to ban gambling due to its impact on economy and youths.
Mr. Zimba said the trend is catching on with so many youths who see it as a quick means of making money.
Mr. Zimba has expressed concern that most youths in the country waste a lot of time playing games in casinos instead of going to school or looking for jobs.
He says the youths should know that betting is an addiction and not a business, saying people should not invest their money in betting.
Mr. Zimba has emphasized the need for the Zambian youths to work hard and to stop investing their time in gambling and betting as these have bad results.
