Government has allowed Revin Zambia Limited to continue producing other products while it continues to investigate Natural Power SX High energy drink.
And the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry has directed the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) to always consult regarding products with health claims that have the potential to impact on public health either in a positive or negative way.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Minister of Commerce Trade and Industry Christopher Yaluma has also directed the Competition Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) to access the kind of remedy to be put in place concerning any consumer issues that may arise from the case.
Mr. Yaluma has announced that investigations for the Natural Power SX high energy drink will soon be completed.
Mr. Yaluma says his ministry through the Zambia Bureau of Standards and the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency has provided necessary technical input from the time the investigations started in December last year.
He says the Ministry has invested heavily in ZABS quality mark as a symbol of promoting quality of the product further directing the bureau to follow through the non-compliance with relevant laws as guided by the ministry of health and access how this will impact on the product quality market.
