Government has honoured its pledge by releasing a total of eight million kwacha towards the successful hosting of the Northern Province Investment Expo slated for next month.
And the organizers of the investment and expo that will be held alongside centenary celebrations to mark the end of the First World War in Mbala, have so far raised two million kwacha through pledges and contributions ahead of the event.
Northern Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga has told Money FM News via telephone that so far, the organizers have managed to raise about ten million kwacha out of the fifteen million needed to successfully host the event.
“We are making a lot of progress in hosting this important event in order to make sure that the event is a success even as we attract investment in the province,” he said.
He says some of the companies that contributed money include Zesco, SEEDCO, Olam Coffee, among other companies.
