Kafwanka hails ZRA

A Lusaka based Business and Financial Analyst has hailed the Zambia Revenue Authority for exceeding its revenue target by K3.8 billion saying this is a positive development.
The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has exceeded its revenue target of K44.7 billion for the 2018 financial year by K3.8 billion.
Blessings Kafwanka says there is also need for the government to reduce on expenditure even as ZRA intensifies efforts to increase on revenue collection.
Mr. Kafwanka tells Money FM News that it is a very good thing that the ZRA exceeded its revenue target but that this must be supported by cutting down on public expenditure by the treasury.
“This good performance can be attributed to the introduction of electronic fiscal devices in 2018. I think ever since the government came up with the Zambia Plus Economic Stabilization programme, ZRA has been exceeding its revenue target but this must be supported by cutting down on expenditure,” he said.
Mr. Kafwanka says the treasury must consider cutting down on expenditure if the nation is to see results from these efforts made by ZRA.
