Kariba Lake levels 30.58%

• Lake levels stood closed at 479.83 metres.
• Zambezi River flows at Chavuma peaked for the first time at 2,579 cubic meters per second.
• Flows at Nana’s Farm, Ngonye and Victoria falls have continued increasing steadily due to local rainfall activity.

Hydrology Data released by the Zambezi River Authority indicated that the Lake level is increasing with increasing inflows from the Zambezi River and immediate Kariba Lower Catchment.

The Period under review recorded from 2nd of February 2020 when the lake levels stood at 27.09% usable storage closed at 479.83m (30.58% usable storage) on 15th February 2021.

Further, according to the Authority’s Hydrology Data Zambezi River flows at Chavuma peaked for the first time at 2,579 cubic meters per second on 13th February 2021 before dropping to 2,475 cubic meters per second as of 15th February 2021.

Nana’s Farm closed the Period under review at 1,447 cubic meters per second Ngonye at 2,442 Cubic meters per second and Victoria Falls at 1,482 cubic meters per second.
