The Road Development Agency (RDA) says sixty six percent of the works at the two hundred and fifty nine million dollars Kazungula border and bridge project have been completed so far.
The project is expected to be completed in March 2020.
RDA Public Relations Manager Masuzyo Ndlovu says the project is being done in three packages which are the actual bridge project which is nine hundred and twenty three meters long, and the one stop boarder package for Zambia and Botswana
He says Zambia is behind schedule with the border post as compared to Botswana because the construction on the Zambian side started a year later.
The project is being funded by the Governments of Zambia and Botswana, the European Commission and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The project’s development objective is to contribute to the trade potential of the countries on the corridor, particularly the landlocked countries of Zambia, Botswana and DRC.
