Experts say the Kwacha has remained unstable in the last three months.
However, according to experts the month of June has shown some indications that the currency may attain stability due to the fact that the fluctuating range has not been wide.
Mambo Hamaundu told Money FM News in an interview that the Kwacha has been trading between K18.05 Ngwee and K18.03 Ngwee, the trend that has not seen a significant fluctuation compared to the previous quarters were the currency fluctuated from a low rate of K18.00 to a high rate of K19.
Mr Hamaundu attributed the volatility of the currency to debt servicing and the procurement of oil as some of the areas that have primarily driven the rate of exchange to high levels.
And the Business Telegraph says the Kwacha is expected to continue being vulnerable and will trade between the range of K17.08 Ngwee and K18.04 Ngwee.
As of Friday last week, foreign currency trading saw the Zambian Kwacha open at between K18.02 ngwee and K18.25 Ngwee per Dollar.
The local unit fluctuated within a band of K18.100 and K18.200 per Dollar, and was quoted at K18.25 – K18.30 per Dollar by close of business.
