Luanshya Council receives K3.2m 2018 CDF

The Luanshya Municipal Council has received the K3.2 Million 2018 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
This was recently disbursed by the Central Government after the local authority successfully used the previous allocation of the facility to purchase computers for secondary schools, construct clinics and improve water reticulation among other projects.
Council Public Relations Manager Gideon Thole says the Council used a total of K306, 800.00 to procure Desktop Computers and printers for Roan Antelope, Nkulumashiba, Mpatamatu and Twashuka Secondary schools under Roan Constituency Development Fund 2017 Allocation.
Mr. Thole says the Kamirenda Maternity Clinic was successfully constructed and completed at a total cost of K258, 165.60 under the 2017 allocation for Luanshya Constituency.
“Furthermore, additional funds of K90, 000.00 have been allocated to allow for the procurement of glass panes, finishing up electrical works and connections to Zesco as well to cater for any other contingencies at Kamirenda Maternity Clinic. The infrastructure development projects which have benefited from the Luanshya CDF allocation include the constriction of Ndeke Police Post whose completion is now at over 90 per cent of the works being undertaken by Kotamwache Investment Ltd at a cost of K219, 809.20,” he said.
Mr. Thole said Mera Engineering has commenced a Water Reticulation at Ndeke Police Post at a cost of K66, 000.
He said Misaka Clinic in Baluba area near the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriage highway has reached near completion stage and the contractor constructor MS Shamrock Zambia Limited is expected to complete the entire project at a cost of at a cost of K114, 000. 00.
“Electrification of Baluba primary School is being under taken by Ralph Joe Construction and Supply Company Limited with a budget allocation of K120, 000.00. The transformer has been installed and 96 per cent of the work has done so far. The Street lighting project with a budget allocation of K100, 000.00 and Fisenge, Parts of Mikomfwa Township, the road leading to Thompson Hospital and parts of the town centre areas have benefitted from the project,” said Mr. Thole.
He added that in the road sector a total of K100, 000.00 has been used for grading and gravelling of roads in of Luanshya Constituency.
Meanwhile the process facilitating for the 2018 Community Development Fund (CDF) allocation of Luanshya Constituency for Education Support Program (ESP) has started and a total of the K100, 000.00 is expected to be disbursed to orphans and vulnerable children who are beneficiaries of the facility.
“In Roan Constituency the following projects have taken off, the water reticulation project at Mpatamatu Secondary and Mpatamatu Primary School at a costs of K47, 200.00 and K K12, 788.00 respectively,” he said.
“The Education Support Program (ESP) and Fertilizer Support Program (FSP) in Roan Constituency have gobbled a total of K300, 000.00 after being successfully implemented.”
