Lungu fires Kasolo.

President Edgar Lungu has dismissed the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Chanda Kasolo.

In a statement issued to Money FM News by Presidential Spokesperson Isaac Chipampe, President Lungu says he has decided to terminate Mr Kasolo’s contract in pursuant to article 92(1), 92(2) and 270 of the constitution of Zambia.

“In pursuant to article 92(1), 92(2) and 270 of the constitution of Zambia I have decided to terminate your contract as Permanent Secretary with immediate effect” the President said.

The Head of state has since thanked Mr. Kasolo for the service he has rendered to government.
Mr Kasolo was on Saturday quoted in the media saying that the announcement by President Lungu to cut salaries for highly paid government workers is voluntary and not a mandate.
