NCC to follow up unfished Katondo building

The National Council for Construction has disclosed plans of following up on issues surrounding the unfinished building at the Junction of Katondo Street and Freedom Way in Lusaka’s central Business District.
Council Executive Director Matthew Ngulube says in an interview that something has to be done for it to be completed or redesigned adding that the original purpose of the building has been overtaken.
Mr. Ngulube says the location is central and can provide various business opportunities and that the major concern is however that is poses security and safety risks.
Then Minister of Local Government Vincent Mwale told Parliament in 2017 that the building has remained in that state for a long time because of a series of litigations.
Housing and Infrastructure Development Ronald Chitotela in the same year said Government would repossess the unfinished building in July if the owner did not start working on it.
