NGO urges Govt to monitor youths empowered in 2020.

• Government should partner with stakeholders and monitor the first phase of youths that were empowered last year.
• Transparency, accountability and discipline is needed.
• Empowered youths must be seen making a progressive impact.

A Non-Governmental Organization has advised government to engage various stakeholders and monitor the first phase of young people that were empowered in 2020 and give a report on the success of the projects.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, World Youth and Leadership Foundation Director General Nalishebo Nyambe noted that transparency, accountability and discipline are important despite challenges the youth maybe experiencing.
Mr. Nyambe stated that it is the organization’s desire to see empowered youths making a progressive impact in order for them to inspire and motivate others, a move he says calls for concerted effort by the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Child Development to correct and control where need be.
“The WYLF is appealing to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development to partner with stakeholders and monitor the first phase of youths that were empowered last year 2020 and give a report on the success of the projects so that the nation can be assured that youths are doing what is right.”
“We note that transparency, accountability and discipline are needed despite challenges youths maybe going through hence the need for the Ministry to engage stakeholders to help out by monitoring youths to ensure that they are making a positive progress,” Mr. Nyambe said.
He however commended government for the continued youth empowerment programmes across the country, further calling for continued partnerships to help the young people be actively involved in positive change.
“We further thank the government for sharing a clean partnership with the youths across the country and we wish to continue with the same partnership because it will help youths to be involved in positive change and activities that will inspire our youths.”
“Engaging youths in positive development will strengthen the partnership and help youths to be role models to the young people. Therefore, World Youth and Leadership Foundation believes that if youths are well empowered and guided, they can be grater youths and leaders of tomorrow that will unify the country and create a developed loving and Caring Nation,” he added.
