The Northern Province Administration says it is working on actualizing the investment pledges that they have received after successfully hosting the investment forum and expo in November, 2018.
The administration says it has received investment pledges worth over US$2.5 billion after last year’s Investment Expo.
Northern Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga says the province has continued to receive massive investment in the province after the expo.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News Mr. Kamanga says that a Chinese company from Liaoning Province in China has expressed interest in investing in the energy sector of the province.
Mr. Kamanga says that the company is specialized in the generation of energy from grass.
He says once opened the company will create thousands of jobs for the local people in the province.
Mr. Kamanga adds that the company will also create out grower schemes where they will be buying grass that will be processed into energy.
He adds that Kafue Sugar is another industry that has expressed interest in investing in the Kalulushi farming block as well as the Mpulungu harbor in the province.
He says the industry is also looking at venturing in other out grower schemes that can be promoted in the province.
He says a number of companies are still expressing interest in investing in several sectors of the economy in Northern Province.
He says the provincial administration is working tirelessly to ensure that investment pledges that were made by several investors are attained.
