Physically Challenged persons to have survival skills training center in Kasama

The Kasama Network for Persons with Disabilities (KANPED) says setting up a survival skills training center in the district will better the lives of physically challenged people economically and socially.
KANPED chairperson Patrick Chilufya says this followed President Edgar Lungu’s 30,000 donation to the organization for the completion of the purchase of a building for the formation of the survival skills training center.
The Head of state made the donation following a request the network made to his office for financial assistance.
Mr. Chilufya has disclosed that apart from imparting survival skills in members, the skills center will also engage in making clutches and repairing disability aids like clutches and wheelchairs.
He says in a statement that KANPED members are already engaged in making clutches at Kasama General hospital.
The Chairperson Notes that physically challenged people are even more vulnerable in rural areas than in urban areas hence the skills center is going to be beneficial to them.
