Police in Lusaka have picked up a body of a 45 year old man in Kabanana suspected to have been murdered last night.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has since identified the deceased as Kunda Changwe who was discovered by a member of the public few meters away from his house.
Ms Katongo says the body was found with a deep cut at the back of the head and a sharp instrument is suspected to have been used in the act.
She says the body is lying in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem.
In another development in Luapula Province, a four year old pedestrian identified as Esther Mwila
died on the spot while three others including the driver sustained injuries in an accident which occurred yesterday around 17:40 hours at Shindi village, Chief Kambwali in Nchelenge District.
“The accident happened when the victim came out of a taxi which was packed off the road hence was hit by the oncoming motor vehicle Mercedes Benz registration number ALV 8770, the property of ZESCO Company Ltd, which was being driven by Silvester Mwape aged 54 of Kawambwa District,” she has disclosed.
She adds that this resulted in the driver of Motor Vehicle to lose control hence went off the road and overturned.
Ms Katongo states that the driver sustained general body pains whilst the two other passengers sustained multiple injuries.
The Police Spokesperson says all victims are admitted to St. Paul’s Mission Hospital while the body of the deceased is lying in the same Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
In a related development in Southern Province, a five year old juvenile identified as Sylvester Milimo died on the spot in an accident which happened yesterday around 15hours at Mbeza Market in Namwala District.
“The accident happened when an Ox-cart on which the victim was hit into a tree and in the process overturned. The body is lying in Namwala District hospital mortuary,” she has further disclosed.
