RDA to complete Kazungula Bridge construction in June this year.

The Road Development Agency (RDA) says Construction of the Kazungula Bridge in Southern Province is expected to be completed in June this year.


Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Agency Corporate Affairs Manager Masuzyo Ndlovu said construction of the main Bridge has reached at 96 percent complete and the one stop border post on the Botswana side is at 99 percent complete, while the one stop border side on the Zambian side is over 85 percent.


“We hope to complete the construction of the bridge by June of this year, but of course the bridge is divided in to three packages, package one is the main Bridge which has reached at 96 percent complete, Package two is the one stop border post on the Botswanan side which is at 99 percent complete, package three is the one stop border side on the Zambian side is over 85 percent,” Mr Ndlovu explained.
Mr Ndlovu said construction of the one boarder post on the Zambia side is expected to complete by July this year. 


He noted that after July all the three packages will be ready for use and all that will be remaining is for the Zambian and Botswana Government that funded the project to formalize the deal.
“I can safely say that after July all the three packages will be ready for use,” He said.
