REPORT: Copper touches US$8000 mark

• Copper is trading for $8,036.5 on the London Metal Exchange.
• What it means is that 2021 is very promising for the Copper mining industry.
• The Problem is that this will benefit the Copper mining industry and not necessarily benefit the people of Zambia.

Copper has this week touched the anticipated US$8000 mark on the London Metal Exchange currently trading for US$8,036.5 per ton.

The copper boom has been fueled in part by demand for commodities from China, which was hit first by the Covid-19 pandemic and has already begun to recover.

With the price of copper surging, it rose 26% in 2020 on the London Metal Exchange, to $7,766 a metric ton on December 31st.
