Revamping Mulungushi Textiles positive for clothing factory – Expert

A Kabwe based Business Analyst has commended efforts by the government and the Industrial Development Cooperation (IDC) to revamp the defunct Mulungushi Textiles.
Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga recently announced that government in partnership with the Chinese government is exploring ways of resuscitating the clothing factory.
Government has said plans are underway to revamp the operations of the China Mulungushi – Joint Venture in Kabwe and establishment of another fabric company by Marubeni will resuscitate the textile industry in Central Province.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM Business News, Noah Kabwita says revamping the textile industry will boost cotton farming in the province as the farmers will be able to supply to the industry.
Mr. Kabwita also says that once refurbished the clothing factory has capacity to create about 2, 000 jobs for the people in Central Province.
He hopes that government will actualize the pronouncement stating that that revamping of the industry has been long overdue.
