And Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama says farming inputs will soon be in the district and that farmers should see to it that they are in contact with the agricultural camp officers in their respective areas.
Mr. Kanyama is advising farming cooperatives in the district to see to it that requirements needed for moving inputs from one point to another are made in advance so as to avoid panic at the last minute.
“As you may be aware, Siavonga is among those districts that will revert to the old farming system of acquiring farming inputs and it will only cost K400.0O per farmer. I’m reliably informed that inputs will be in at any time in the district,” he said.
He adds that in the event of army worms, government is equally prepared to control the pests in the district.
“So when you notice strange pest in your fields, quickly inform the agricultural camp officers for immediately action. To that effect farmers are urged to coordinate well with agricultural camp officers in the district, if the district is to produce a good harvest next year,” he said.
