A resident magistrate of Chirundu and Siavonga Courts has escaped death when his vehicle was involved in an accident along Chirundu – Lusaka road.

The accident happened yesterday at about16:00 hours on Chirundu – Lusaka road at Kapilingozi hills.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says Edward Banda aged 47 years, of Siavonga High cost area is currently admitted to Mtendere Mission Hospital.

“Honorable Banda was driving a motor vehicle Toyota Prado Registration number BAC 6481 from south to north and also Kennedy Chilekwa, 32 years of Lusaka’s Linda Compound who was driving a Toyota Dyna Registration number BAF 3696 from north to south,” She said.

“The accident occurred when the motor vehicle Toyota Dyna developed faulty brakes whilst descending the hill in process hit into the Toyota Prado which was coming from the opposite direction”.
She says the two victims are currently admitted to Mtendere Mission Hospital.
