The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) has intensified the distribution of Practicing Licences in all the ten provinces of Zambia.
Council Spokesperson Ngoza Malonga says two weeks ago, TCZ launched the distribution of Practicing Licence in five provincial centres under phase 1, among them; Mansa in Luapula, Solwezi in North-Western, Kasama in Northern, Mongu in Western and Choma in Southern provinces.
Ms Malonga says the distribution of certificates in the said provinces has been intensified through the offices of the District Education Board Secretaries (DEBS).
“In line with the Teaching Profession Act No. 5 of 2013, every teacher needs to poses the registration certificate and the Practicing Licence without which they cannot teach and once the issuance of Practicing License is concluded, employers and supervisors will be instructed not to allow unregistered and unlicensed teachers to practice as they will be breaching the Law. Teacher registration is Law in Zambia,” she said.
She adds that the Council will steadily continue the distribution of Practicing Licenses to all districts and the exercise which will be concluded in the first quarter of 2019 commences next week.
“The four (4) provinces under phase 2 include; Eastern, Muchinga, Central, Copperbelt and Lusaka provinces,” said Ms Malonga.
