Three people perish in Kapiri Mposhi accident

Three people have died on the spot in an accident along Ndola – Kapiri Mposhi Road leaving eleven people with injuries.
The accident happened yesterday at a place called in Kapiri Mposhi district.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed the development that the involved in an accident was Robert Kafunda aged 40 of Kamuchanga in Mufulira District who was driving a Nissan Vannet registration number BAH 8603 from North to South with 14 passengers on board.
Ms Katongo narrates that the accident happened due to excessive speed hence the driver lost control of the motor vehicle which later overturned several times off the road.
The Police Spokesperson has identified the deceased as Given Nayame aged 31 of Kamuchanga compound in Kitwe, Juliet Mutambo aged 43 of Kalengwa in Kalulushi and a female juvenile Esther Simushi aged between 4-5 months.
She says the bodies are in Kapiri Mposhi District Hospital mortuary while the injured are admitted to Kapiri Mposhi district hospital.

Meanwhile, a girl from Lusaka’s Kanyama area between the ages of 15 and 18 has been murdered by unknown people in a suspected rape strangle.
Ms Katongo says the deceased is suspected to have been murdered between 01:00 hours and 03:00 hours today and that the body was found at about 06:30 hours.
She narrates that the victim is suspected to have been raped before she was murdered and the body was found with scratches around the neck and whitish substance on her thigh and the body had no pants on.
Ms Katongo states that the body is in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem.
