University of Zambia (UNZA) says it has enhanced measures aimed at protecting the lives of students, staff and the general public against the second wave of COVID-19.
University Spokesperson and Head of Communication and Marketing Dr. Brenda Bukowa told Money FM News that as a result of intensified measures, all members of staff with the exception of essential workers have been directed to go on leave with immediate effect.
Dr. Bukowa stated that all academic members of staff involved in teaching using online platforms and those marking examinations have been advised to remotely work from home.
“In this vein, all members of staff with the exception of essential workers have been directed to proceed on leave with immediate effect. The leave days shall be deducted from their days and staff without leave days will have leave days advanced to them,” Dr. Bukowa disclosed.
She further urged all members of staff and students that may still be on campus to strictly adhere to COVID-19 guidelines as directed by the Ministry of Health.
